Geez, TK, if you'd read my blog more regularly, you'd have learned that a whole week ago.

In all seriousness, though (and this is my main reason for bringing it up), I thought that story would have gained a lot more traction in the K-blogs. It went almost completely ignored.

  2. "File sharing is exactly like stealing. [The Atlantic]"

    That's wrong!
By stealing an object, you're depriving the previous owner from that object without their permission. By downloading a file, you're not erasing it from the hosting computer, but on the contrary, you're multiplying the file, resulting in both the owner AND yourself in having the same file in custody. Looking that way it's not only not even close to stealing, but it's even the very opposite from stealing.

Stealing an artwork would be signing another's work and selling it under your name and get all the fame instead of the original author.

Copyright is the real thefth, not file sharing. It is stealing your money and your freedom of either express yourself publicly or to just enjoy a big variety of good stuff. As well as the chance for the new artists to show themselves off.

I am an artist myself and I know how hard it is to make money out of art, but copyright and cencoreship are definitely not the way, not the solution. They make it even worse. They were not invented to protect the rights and work of the artists, but they were made up for the big companies to make even more money.

  4. But why is traffic slowing in the rain so much more extreme in Seoul than anywhere else I've been?
