I grew up in the 1980s watching the real NBA Finals involving the Lakers (Magic & Co.), Boston Celtics (two words: Larry. Bird.), Detroit Pistons (Laimbeer and his goons), and Chicago Bulls (led by Michael somebody) so to me the NBA these days is about as exciting as watching a high school girls soccer match. Having said this, though, congratulations to the Lakers. As a former Angeleno now living in Dallas, I cheered for them to win. Now, let the riots get under way.
The Korean is a Korean American living in Washington D.C. He lived in Seoul until he was 16, then moved to Los Angeles area. The Korean refers to himself in the third person because he thinks it sounds cool.
NIIIIIICE! Congratulatons.
ReplyDeleteWhat other countries made it to this years championships?
I guess one person still watches "professional" basketball. What are the ratings like? Does it even top those cars running around in circles?
ReplyDeleteOtto, be nice. We all know that Americans don't invite other countries to their world championships.
ReplyDeleteActually, the Lakers and Magic both have important foreign players: Pau Gasol and Hedo Türkoğlu, respectively.

ReplyDeletenow can they repeat next year?
ReplyDeleteCongrats AK, though honestly, you guys would have relived 1991 if the Bulls didn't get cheated by the green-loving refs in Round 1! Haha.
ReplyDeleteI am overjoyed for the Korean! that his Lakers won it all, in very convincing fashion. They are the best this year.
