You should do a post on some of your favorite such places in NYC, so that us non-Koreans can be hospitable and impress our visiting Korean co-workers with dinner recommendations. ;)
It'd be far and you'd have to cross the border, but if you ever come to Montreal, Qc, Canada you should go to Hwang Kum (VERY AWESOME Korean resto, run by Koreans too - trust me, that's rare here). It's my favourite place to eat. ^_^
The Korean is a Korean American living in Washington D.C. He lived in Seoul until he was 16, then moved to Los Angeles area. The Korean refers to himself in the third person because he thinks it sounds cool.
Any idea what the origins of that name are?
ReplyDeleteApparently, it's supposed to be a stylized bastardization of the word "jumak". (Old Korean word for eating/drinking house.)
