Someone doing anything positive with DC (or any other, really) public schools is reason enough to dance in the streets. The fact that Ms. Rhee is of the Han is a bonus to the fact that she gets a part of the future of America (we hope) interested in learning.
Just to note - many people are very unhappy with and critical of the changes that Rhee is making. She has indeed "transformed" the educational system, but there is much debate over the nature of that transformation.
The Korean is a Korean American living in Washington D.C. He lived in Seoul until he was 16, then moved to Los Angeles area. The Korean refers to himself in the third person because he thinks it sounds cool.
Saw a Korean documentary on Michelle Rhee and how she transformed the educational system in DC. Pretty amazing woman.
