Would anyone like to help out Jeff? The Korean has no clue because, well, the Korean never had to learn Korean online. Please leave your suggestions in the comments section. Thank you all in advance.
Dear Korean,
My Korean is very rusty (both spoken and written), learned more than 20 years ago and not used daily for about that period. Could you recommend any online resources that might help polish it?
Thanks for your time,
Jeff H.
There are several really good resources out there to help you learn Korean, but one of my very favorites is Koreanclass101.com. There's a daily podcast and a very vibrant online community of people learning Korean at all skill levels that help each other out.
ReplyDeleteFor some of the more premium features of the site, you do have to pay, but they offer a 7 day free trial. If you decide you don't want to pay after the trial period, you can still download the podcasts and participate in the forums and such for free.
Good luck!
Koreanclass101.com is good for listening...
ReplyDeleteThere's also an intermediate Korean level site from UC Berkeley if you want to get deeper into grammar patterns.

I like http://study.korean.net/index.jsp. There are lots of different activities, including manhwa-type comics.
ReplyDeleteThank you all - I'll be checking out your suggestions and trying to get down with the Hangukmal once again.
ReplyDeleteIf I may, can you tell me how to install Hangul onto my computer, while still keeping English as the default alphabet?
Much obliged to all,
Jeff
Jeff,
ReplyDeleteIn order for you to type in Korean, you need to install support for East Asian languages and set Korean as an input language. You can switch back and forth between English and Korean by using the language bar. (That is, if you use Windows. I'm not sure for other operating systems.) If you search your help file in Windows for "language" you should find step-by-step instructions on how to change your input language. Good luck! :)
this one is really good, and free:
