If there ever was a question about whether U.S. is more or less racist compared to the rest of the world, L.A. Times has a fantastic article that affirms the Korean's previously stated answer. The article is about China, but the situation is the same throughout Asia, definitely including Korea.

Some of the job postings listed in Arab countries ask for "Males only" (ESL teachers included). Even if there are laws prohibiting discrimination, I don't think they're enforced or they wouldn't have the balls to advertise that way. In the United States, the first person to see that would sue and win beaucoup bucks!
